Upgrades, resiliency & safety in Westchester

Multi-faceted project to enhance safety and improve the region’s resiliency during storm events by replacing four bridges, renovating one bridge, providing drainage improvements, subgrade stabilization, utility relocations, and pavement reconstruction. The project includes the East Lincoln Avenue Bridge in Pelham and Mount Vernon, Saw Mill River Parkway Bridges over the Saw Mill River, and the U.S. Route 1 Bridge over the Mamaroneck River in Mamaroneck. Work includes the complete superstructure and substructure replacement of bridges prone to flooding on the Saw Mill River Parkway, encompassing nearly two miles of roadway and four ramps. Significant attention and meticulous planning of staging and phasing operations was taken to maintain safe vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
