LaGuardia Airport
Halmar successfully provided Construction Management/General Contracting (CMGC) services on several construction projects as part of the major LaGuardia Capital Infrastructure (LGACI) Program to turn the aging LaGuardia Airport (LGA) into a world-class facility as part of PANYNJ’s $3.6 billion overall 7-year program. Halmar worked airside and landside coordinating multiple work orders simultaneously, which included a variety of construction activities in the busy, active airport environment along the runways and taxiways, as well as the roads leading to and from the terminals. The $187 million project included relocation, construction, and upgrade of utilities and subsurface structures; excavation, installation of electrical and communication duct banks, manhole structures, an electrical lighting vault building, toll plaza/booths, roadways, soil removal, and pavement restorations; as well as terminal-related work and other civil work. The construction schedule was compressed with aggressive deadlines for each of the 15 work orders, constructed simultaneously so that sections of the airport could be turned over in support of the larger terminal replacement project.
