JFK International Airport

Halmar has been a major participant in the redevelopment of JFK International Airport since the early 1990’s. The firm completed several landside facility projects, such as the Multi-Tenant Cargo Facility and the Perishables Center project, completed 8 months ahead of schedule. Halmar has also been instrumental in terminal improvements and expansion projects, such as the major 40,000-sf terminal expansion and renovation of British Airways Terminal 7 project which included a 450-car parking garage, foundation and superstructure for the AirTrain Light Rail Station, and new elevated and at grade roadways and toll plazas; landside construction of Terminal 4 which included roadways, parking, toll plazas, walkways, canopies, elevated arrivals level ramps and bridges, as well as extensive utility relocations; the replacement of American Airlines Terminals 8 and 9 where Halmar innovatively removed an extremely large area of contaminated soil which allowed sections of the foundation to begin earlier than anticipated. Halmar completed multiple projects under the JFK Runways, Taxiways, and Aprons contract to repair, rehabilitate, relocate and construct runways, taxiways and aprons throughout the airport, including new pavement, electrical and drainage, as well as the construction of new ramps and bypasses.
